In Practice

Each eye examination is geared specifically to the patient, their symptoms and history. As such the content of the eye examination will vary from one patient to the next.

In general terms an eye examination will consist of refraction (finding the required prescription) and ophthalmoscopy (examination of the eyes).

On occasion the optometrist may recommend further test that may require the use of eye drops. If this is the case the optometrist will discuss the benefits/reasons for this.
